Chasing Daze
In the summer of 2021, I discovered the underground Oregon-based duo Chasing Daze. I really loved the indie pop energy of their hit song Summer, which inspired me to make this video.
I took a few clips of throughout the summer on my phone of various summer activities: sunsets, the beach, late night drives, etc. After color grading the montage with warm, golden tones, I used Procreate to animate a simple handwritten animation of the word ‘summer‘. The effect was laid on top of the video in After Effects.
I sent the final Canvas to the artists, who loved it and added it to their Spotify page (which you can find here). They requested a few more similar videos for their next album, which has yet to be released (but still check out the Canvases below).
